Teaching

The Respiratory Consultants are all heavily involved in undergraduate education. Our aim is to be engaging and help train new doctors to meet future challenges in Respiratory and General Medicine. We work very closely with Leeds University to deliver an exciting and integrated curriculum.

We run the first year Respiratory clinical symposia as well as 3rd and 5th year Respiratory firms. Consultants regularly lecture 2nd and 5th years and are on the OSCE planning committee.

Postgraduate education is provided to all junior doctors every Thursday lunch time. This program is run by Dr S Miller. These interactive sessions provides junior the opportunity of be updated in all key areas of Respiratory Medicine, learn presentations skills, gain experience in literature reviews as well.

This unique teaching program delivers Respiratory SpRs education for the Leeds rotation. These sessions are aimed at improving up to-date knowledge of supra speciality Respiratory medicine and creates an opportunity for dynamic and fun interaction between our registrars and consultants.

Each Friday there is a Respiratory and X-ray meeting. This includes presentations, audit and clinical governance.
